Studio Zada began when founder Nola Chesler left film sets for real spaces, trading temporary worlds for permanent ones. Those years building narratives in constrained timelines taught her what matters: the honesty of good materials, the rhythm of how people actually move through space, why some rooms feel right before you can name why.

We do not treat interiors as the layer that comes last. We treat them as the part that makes a space intelligible, usable, and alive.

Studio Zada designs interiors as complete spatial compositions, not as a collection of separate finishes, furniture, and objects. Based in Mérida, the studio brings architectural thinking, visual discipline, and practical execution to homes, boutique hospitality, and design led commercial spaces.

Led by Nola Chesler, Studio Zada is shaped by more than a decade in film and television set design: building rooms that had to read clearly, hold together from every angle, and work under real constraints. That training informs the studio’s approach to interiors: decisive, resourceful, and attentive to how atmosphere is built without excess.

We are best suited to projects where the interiors need to be resolved, not simply decorated. Some begin during renovation, while layouts, finishes, lighting, and custom work are still being planned. Others come to us once the architecture is underway, but the space still needs coherence, warmth, and direction.

Our projects are as varied as the people who find us. Historic renovations in Centro. Ground-up builds on raw land. Homes for those splitting time between cities. They're all creating something lasting, spaces that feel discovered rather than designed, that wear beautifully, that become more themselves over time.

We work with what's real: local stone, tropical hardwoods that darken beautifully, concrete that stays cool underfoot. We source textiles from the highlands and hardware from Brooklyn. We've built relationships with workshops and artisans over the years. People who understand both traditional craft and contemporary standards.

We manage the full scope: drawings to procurement, vendor relationships to installation schedules. The unglamorous logistics and the sublime details. Beginning to end.

This is slow design in a fast world. Come find us.

Studio Zada designs interiors as complete spatial compositions, not as a collection of separate finishes, furniture, and objects. Based in Mérida, the studio works across homes, boutique hospitality, and design-led commercial spaces, bringing architectural thinking, visual discipline, and practical execution to projects of different scales.

The result is layered but not crowded, personal but not overworked, and built to function beyond the photograph.
