Studio Zada began when founder Nola Chesler left film sets for real spaces, trading temporary worlds for permanent ones. Those years building narratives in constrained timelines taught her what matters: the honesty of good materials, the rhythm of how people actually move through space, why some rooms feel right before you can name why.

Studio Zada began when founder Nola Chesler left film sets for real spaces, trading temporary worlds for permanent ones. DESIGNING LIVED-IN INTERIORS SHAPED BY AN EYE FOR CURATION

At Studio Zada, interior design starts with a story: how you enter, where you pause, what the light does at 4 p.m., and why a room feels right before you can explain it. Drawing on Nola Chesler’s decade in film and television set decoration, the studio approaches the home with a set designer’s rigor, disciplined composition, clear priorities, and a wide angle view of how every element supports the whole. The result is comfort that lasts: spaces that wear in beautifully, stay cohesive over time, and never feel overworked.

We start with materials that belong in the Yucatán: local stone, tropical hardwoods that darken beautifully, and concrete floors that stay cool. From there, we source globally through established relationships in New York, Mexico City, and beyond, bringing in the right pieces when they truly improve the outcome. We work with a tight network of workshops and artisans who can deliver traditional craft with contemporary precision.

Our projects are as varied as the people who commission them, historic renovations in Centro, ground up builds on raw land, and homes for clients splitting time between cities. The common thread is spaces that wear beautifully and feel more settled over time.

We manage the full scope, from drawings and procurement to vendor coordination and installation. We handle the logistics that keep a project moving, and the details that make it feel finished.

Our projects are as varied as the people who find us. Historic renovations in Centro. Ground-up builds on raw land. Homes for those splitting time between cities. They're all creating something lasting, spaces that feel discovered rather than designed, that wear beautifully, that become more themselves over time.

We work with what's real: local stone, tropical hardwoods that darken beautifully, concrete that stays cool underfoot. We source textiles from the highlands and hardware from Brooklyn. We've built relationships with workshops and artisans over the years. People who understand both traditional craft and contemporary standards.

We manage the full scope: drawings to procurement, vendor relationships to installation schedules. The unglamorous logistics and the sublime details. Beginning to end.

This is slow design in a fast world. Come find us.
